Natural Therapies

Written by Nicole Capo

So motherly. So healing.

Yes. Nature is generous and wise.

It nourishes us. It invigorates us. It heals us.

The choice of therapies based on nature is therefore the choice of our origins, because of the affinity of their action to our body.

The allegory of the Garden of Eden is an illustration – both ancient and modern – that we were created to live and thrive in a garden.

What are Natural Therapies?

They are based on a holistic approach to the human body.

Holistic…? What might that be?

It’s a conception that views the human body as a whole, a coherent mechanism, and definitely not a set of separate and independent  parts.

Natural therapies have evolved from that view and have devised methods that can be manual, based on energy, naturopathic, and products whose origin are natural:  mineral, vegetable or animal.

Those products, non-toxic in their recommended doses, are remarkably effective, especially when it comes to prevention, and they have next to no adverse effects.

What Can We Expect From Natural Therapies?

– They do us good!

– Their use is very simple.

– They are particularly beneficial for well-being on a day to day basis:

*to prevent and treat daily life ailings.

* Relief of pain, both physical and psychological.

– They are ideal to strengthen and enliven the body, boost its natural defences and its ability to deal with stress, to ensure a mild internal cleanse of the body when the need arises. In short, to keep an optimal body/mind balance.

– They can be used as an addition to classic treatments for severe conditions, or come to the rescue when said treatments are not giving satisfactory results.

Even though our focus here will be on phytotherapy, let us name in passing, some natural methods (medically acknowledged and backed by renown centres or pharmaceutical laboratories) which can help achieve good health.

* Nutrition

* Aromatherapy

* Acupuncture

* Reflexology

* Meditation

*Phytotherapy

Why Not Dwell A Bit on Phytotherapy ?

Phytotherapy is a comprehensive mix of all natural therapies based on the use of herbs and every vegetable substances existing in nature.

It is the ancient foundation of all the types of medicines known to us today,  from the allopathic drugs dispensed in pharmacies to Traditional Chinese Medicine or Ayurveda (Indian traditional medicine).

So it only remains for us to get our kettles ready for healing and comforting teas.

But of course, we can also take a more modern and practical path to our journey back to nature, with capsules, liquid extracts or extract powders.

MY PASSION FOR NATURAL THERAPIES was not born out of a quest.
It came to me through the force of nature's basics, dawning on me, through an unexpected recovery from seemingly desperate health conditions, and through the glorious strokes of inspiration.

But the magic of herbs is not sufficient to make a career of herbology.
It takes more.

The use of herbs has been supported for centuries by empirical observations that have been replaced in modern civilization, by scientific studies.

Security about the therapeutic properties of herbs, their dosage and harmlessness have become the main concerns, and rightly so.

The link is established then. Natural therapies, yes. But backed by science.
Herbs used with a maximum security regarding dosage, interactions and potential harmful effects.

That is Nature's harbour's invitation. All the team wishes you welcome and dearly hopes you'll come to us, as much as we wish to come to you.
